During the defrost cycle, freezers drain water from a drain tube. This water has to go somewhere or else it will leak onto your floor. There are several ways that manufacturers drain the water out of their freezer models and then store it or vent it once the freezer is drained. Unplug the freezer when doing a manual defrost or when removing the front panel to gain access to the drip pan or the drain hose. Unscrew the front or rear panel on your freezer with a screwdriver to gain access to the freezer drain hose and the drip pan.
